While most people head to Sun Valley, Idaho solely for the fantastic skiing on Bald and Dollar Mountains, others come for the nightlife as well. With that thought in mind, we’d like to suggest a few our favorite spots:
Averell’s Roundhouse
You can’t miss this Valley icon. It’s located in an octagonal building about halfway up “Baldy.” Everyone from the locals to movie stars can be found in this beer and wine joint. It does get crowded so get there early.
Grumpy’s
There’s no better place for burgers and beer in the Valley than this bar on Warm Springs Road. The name and the put-on attitude of the bartenders may scare away the uninitiated but once inside you’ll love the atmosphere.
Michel’s Christiana
Known to the locals as “The Christy,” this French restaurant – open for over half a century – offers the finest haute cuisine in the area. After dinner, relax and have a drink in the adjoining bar. Michel’s.
River Run
If a little live music is what you crave after a long day of skiing, try this saloon with it outdoor fire pit. The crowd is fairly young and get quite boisterous so be ready for an evening of revelry if you do go.
